Sources & Listing Method

Independent business discovery

We discover candidates through general web searches and independently written food blogs and editorial recommendations. We then check basic business details against the business’s own website or other business-controlled information. We focus on places that people can visit in Los Angeles County.

We do not copy, bulk-import, or republish other business directories as our listings. Records and candidates originating from third-party business directories were excluded when the current collection was rebuilt. Finding a business in a directory and checking its address later does not qualify it for this collection.

What we record and check

We record basic facts such as the business name, published address, telephone number where available, official website, and an editorial category. Missing details are not invented. If a visit-based business does not publish a telephone number on the checked official page, we provide its address and official website.

Korean names are prioritized for readability. Some Korean display names are editorial transliterations of the published source name, rather than confirmed official Korean names. Korean-related names, cuisine, or published Korean-language services do not establish Korean ownership.

Restaurant reviews and recommendations

Food blogs and editorial reviews help us discover restaurants. Where we have inspected a relevant post, the business detail panel may include a short attributed link to the original article. A recommendation label is used only when the article supports it; a visit report alone is not automatically a recommendation. We do not reproduce review text, photographs, or ratings, and we do not use an old review’s address or opening hours as current business information.

Location checks

We use the U.S. Census address geocoder only to obtain address coordinates and check whether an address falls within Los Angeles County. Census geocoding does not confirm business registration, ownership, licensing, or current operation. A geocoded point may identify a building rather than its entrance.

Google Maps supplies the background map and external directions. Google Maps or Places listings, ratings, reviews, and popularity metrics are not imported into this business collection.

Version 1.0 and corrections

Version 1.0 contains a curated initial collection. Published basic facts have been compared with first-party sources, but listings should not be understood as independently confirmed to be currently operating, Korean-owned, or licensed. Please confirm important details with the business before visiting. The official source is linked from each business’s detail panel. Please use the site’s correction form to report outdated or incorrect information.
